I remembered you showing up in the Nexus last year on May 2nd, with all that cake. You said it was close to your birthday then, and you confirmed it was May a little later, so -- well, after that I guessed. I figured it was either today or the third, maybe the fourth.
(OOC: Of course, I can't say that LJ notifications told me. ^^;)
My memory does seem to be working pretty well these days. A nice change from the past.
I see -- how are you doing, anyway?
(OOC: It's okay, I didn't realize I hadn't thought up an in-character reason for him to know until you commented. Lucky I memoried that Nexus thread from last year.)
That does sound like fun. I'll have to remember that. My own personal idea was to see how far I could launch a tire. (Hopefully getting it to land upright and roll some ways.)
Just don't point it towards anything you want to keep intact!
....so, how hard is it to build a catapult? Because it occurs to me that that might be an ideal solution to my problems with launching. It'd be cool to get something flying without having to first climb a cliff.
Not that hard, really. You just need to get the right balance with the launch mechanism. I had to rework mine a bit when it ended up going off at too light a touch. Once that's settled, though, it would probably be near-perfect for your launching needs.
Of course! Let me just figure out if I can put it on wheels to bring to the Nexus, or if I'll have to bring you here. I'll let you know one way or the other.
Attaching wheels was a success -- if you want to see it, I'm in the Nexus, near the sign (http://community.livejournal.com/dear_multiverse/5124644.html). Just look for the bright orange cones.

Date: 2010-05-03 10:35 am (UTC)No cake this year, alas. I haven't baked anything more interesting than bread for months, I think.
((OOC: *headpalm* Right, wasn't thinking. Sorry!))
