“You can’t be here! It doesn’t make sense for you to be here! I refuse to even believe that you are here!”: When Doc first arrives through the Rift, he’s going to be pretty scared and confused. In fact, there’s a good chance that he may believe he may have accidentally run right back into his hated Arcadia, especially if he sees anyone doing anything strange. This person is going to have to calm Doc down and reassure him that he’s not back where he can be hurt. Er, well, not by faerie at any rate. Be forewarned, this will probably take a LOT of explaining. Revan Onasi ([livejournal.com profile] curtainfalling)

“Next Saturday night, we’re sending you back to the future!”: Doc’s an inventor at heart – he adores building things to make the world better. He’d enjoy meeting some people of a similar mind, to bounce ideas off of and maybe get into projects together. And if someone’s got a mechanical problem they think Doc can help fix, he’d be happy to give them a hand. Especially if it involves anything that could help him get back on track with the project he wasn’t allowed to finish – his beloved flux capacitor. Revan Onasi ([livejournal.com profile] curtainfalling); Aubrey Ringland ([livejournal.com profile] thecellsiam); Farley Claymore ([livejournal.com profile] clanoftheswords); multiple openings, preferably for fellow inventor-types

“Forget about me, Marty, and save yourself!”: When it comes to friendships, Doc can be very loyal. Someone who proves to him that he or she will stand by him and help him out whenever possible will get complete loyalty in return. Doc would do anything for these people, even risk his life if necessary. When you’ve been alone and scared most of your life, friends like these are very important. Revan Onasi ([livejournal.com profile] curtainfalling); Aubrey Ringland ([livejournal.com profile] thecellsiam); Gladys ([livejournal.com profile] cookiesandhugs); Farley Claymore ([livejournal.com profile] clanoftheswords); John "JD" Dorian ([livejournal.com profile] sensi_doctor); multiple openings

“I wouldn’t give you the pleasure; you’ll just have to go ahead and shoot!”: Although he’s not the most social creature on the planet, Doc doesn’t hate most people. However, this person would definitely give Doc a reason to hate him/her. Maybe they get on his nerves more often than not. Maybe they remind Doc of his hated Keeper, Andrew. Or maybe they keep threatening people Doc really cares about. Whatever the case, Doc despises his person and will do what he can to prevent them from reaching their goals. (Two openings)

“The other great mystery of the universe – women.”: Doc’s never been good with women and relationships. He’s only had two girlfriends in his life, and both were in the relationship for reasons other than love. He’s pretty much dedicated his life to the pursuit of science and invention with little time for romance. But when he falls for someone, he falls fast and hard. If some woman came along who appreciated him for who he was, enjoyed the things he does (especially Jules Verne!), then maybe he’d be willing to giving this dating thing another go. Even if he’s very awkward at it. Donna Noble ([livejournal.com profile] withpockets)

I offer my Tiem Laydee ([livejournal.com profile] withpockets), Donna, for... well, anything. XD She's very friendly. Not exactly scientific, but her brain capacity and IQ have had, when she came through, a SIGNIFICANT spike, given Time Lords' intelligence levels, so she's a quick study right enough.

He can teach her sciencey things! :D

...I shouldn't be interacting with people when I'm in this mood. Uh. Don't mind me, rly.

:D I was kinda hoping Donna would come up! Because although I'm only a Who fan by proxy, I had this idea. . . .

Does she like Jules Verne? ;)

Donna: Journey to the Center of the Earth, 20000 Leagues Under the Sea? Classics, had to read them for class, only ones I had any fun with. And the movies were good.

Ironic -- the two books by him Doc mentioned in the movie. :p (My favorite is "Around the World in 80 Days.")

Yup! :D The first is mentioned in the scene where they're pulling the DeLorean out of the mine Doc's hidden it in (Doc even uses his initials like they did in the book), the second is the book he credits with getting him into science in the first place.
Doc: "It was when I was 11 that I first read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It was then that I realized that I must devote my life to science."
It also comes up in the cute little scene where canonDoc and Clara are falling in love.

Basically, I just think it would be really neat if Doc ended up falling head-over-heels for a Time Lady. Sorta combining work with pleasure, eh? :p

I heartily approve of this plan.

I can't promise Donna will reciprocate, but... I heartily approve this plan. :D :D :D

w00t!

And even if he doesn't, Doc's used to heartbreak. She can't treat him any worse than his last girlfriend, Jill, who tried to use their relationship to force him to work on a project her father was sponsoring. (Dropped element from the Part III script that I coopted for my fanfic -- you can read about the nasty breakup here (http://www.freewebtown.com/backtothevampire/stories/Unsolved%20Mysteries.htm).

Aaaaah, poor bit.

No, Donna got almost killed by her fiance, who was only dating/marrying her because his alien boss needed her. To kill.

She's a good person to be in unrequited love with. She'll at least be gentle with your heart if she doesn't return the feelings.

Shepard ([livejournal.com profile] fightyourfoes) gives many people a reason to hate her. So I nominate her for “I wouldn’t give you the pleasure; you’ll just have to go ahead and shoot!”

Revan (this account) is kind of a gear head—she built her own assassin droid, after all! And she's also very good at, erm, therapy. Revan!therapy is good. So Revan for “Next Saturday night, we’re sending you back to the future!” and “You can’t be here! It doesn’t make sense for you to be here! I refuse to even believe that you are here!”? =P

Yes, I've seen Shepard can be a right bitch. I imagine things would be bad if she and Doc met up under the wrong circumstances. *thinks on it*

Revan definitely sounds like a good choice for the other two. :) I imagine funny convos if HK-47 came up.

Well, I have two geeky boys who'd love to meet him- Daniel Faraday ([livejournal.com profile] unstuckphysics) and Marshall Flinkman ([livejournal.com profile] akablackkitty. Dan's bigger on the science stuff and he was actually trying to discover the secrets to time travel back to his world (and failed at it), so he will totally adore Doc. Marshall's more of a tech geek, but he's like Q from James Bond. He turns necklaces into high-tech microphones and tracking devices. Don't mess with Flink. XD

Oooo, I am intrigued by your characters and wish to subscribe to your newsletter. I imagine Doc would immediately gravitate toward anyone working on time travel. :D And Flinkman just sounds fun overall.

This is not a mun journal. Really. Um.. *shifty?*

Hee! I love my dorky boys. And it did occur to me that if Doc wants someone for the fourth storyline that he might interact with more often, simply because he's in the hotel is Sark ([livejournal.com profile] sarkraticmethod). Former terrorist, former assassin, tends to make everyone he's around hate his breathing guts, thinks he's smarter than everyone, not exactly trustworthy and is only here because he has a deal with Jack, and Marshall's afraid of him and Dan doesn't like him. XD Of course, he's also twenty-two and has Bambi eyes, so somehow I don't think Doc would see him as much of a threat, but I figured I'd offer him up. XD

I have... Way too many characters, honestly.

From: [identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com
So I'm beginning to see. XD

I'll keep him in mind. If he ticks Doc off enough, it could work.

(Honestly, there's one character I already know Doc's going to hate -- The Rani. I read up on her at the wiki, and she reminds me a lot of the guy I created to be Doc's Keeper (minus the whole "animals flocking to him" thing.))

Date: 2008-05-22 02:26 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kawaiispinel.livejournal.com
XD Hey, if all else fails and Doc just thinks he's a punkass kid, the results of their interaction will be hilarious. I like making Sark have to deal with people who don't take him seriously... It's only bad when he can theoretically harm them... Since, you know, he's had people killed for insulting his age... And they let that boy into the Conrad.

(Oh The Rani. *giggles* Yeeeah, I can see her being an issue.)

LOL, fun times indeed. :p He sounds -- iiinteresting.

Oh yes. There shall be issues with The Rani. Poor Doc's probably going to be both terrified and infuriated by her.

(yeah, using my "mun" journal -- too lazy to go through the hoops of posting as clockwork while still logged in as me)

Harry might be a good choice for #4, if you'd like. I'm not so sure about Daniel - he doesn't despise scientists, exactly, but he doesn't usually make friends out of them unless they can relate on some other level.

Date: 2008-05-22 02:00 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com
Maybe. Dunno if he's evil enough quite yet, Har.

Daniel and Doc would probably be casual acquaintances -- the kind to nod at each other in the hallways and such.

Aubrey would definitely fit in next saturday night, we're sending you back to the future! as xe's basically stuck doing tinkering, etc, now that xes Official Science Credits aren't really needed.

Xe's also poking me about asking whether or not -- plotting dependent, obvs -- xe could fit in forget about me, Marty, and save yourself.

(Xe's kind of doing the "Science! Potential Friends!" dance in the back of my head. :P)

Um, I have no idea where she fits in, but Gladys likes Doc. A lot. *nod* She thinks he's amusing and adorable. (Which is, you know, slightly weird but whatever, right?)

LoL -- she kinda reminds me of the sister I gave him, Emily, when she mothers him. :D So she'd probably end up under "Forget about me, Marty, and save yourself."

(And it's not weird -- I think he's amusing and adorable too. Granted, my definition of "adorable" probably differs. . . <.< >.>)
