After meeting up with Clark in the Nexus, Doc's been getting things ready for him to come over and help him and Marty with the repairs on Dee's car form. He's been putting this off for far too long, thanks to some anxieties about what exactly Dee feels, and whether it's even right for him to do anything to her. Dee's assured him about fifty million times that she feels no pain, though, and she really wants to be fixed. And having Marty around now makes things rather easier than before. End result -- he's finally ready to get Dee back to full functioning condition -- or, at least, as close as they can get.

Finally, three days after Clark appeared, everything's set up. Tools and parts are in orderly piles in the parking lot, as are Dee, Marty, and Doc. "We all set, Doc?" Marty asks, looking around.

"I believe we are," Doc says, going over his mental checklist. "Dee? Anything missing that you can see?"

"Nope!" Dee bounces happily on her heels. This is gonna be fun! "Go ahead and call, Dad!"

"Okay!" Doc goes ahead and sends a text message to Clark's PINpoint: Clark -- it's me, Doc. We're all ready to get to work if you are. Let me know if you're in a position to come over.

"Damn," Doc says, steam hissing out his back. "That figures." He pats Dee's hood. "Sorry, kid -- we did the best we could."

Dee transforms back, all smiles. "That's fine, Dad! What you did is great! I feel like myself again!" Here, everybody, have all the hugs. "Thanks a lot!"

"I don't think we won't be able to find a replacement part," he clarifies. "I'd ask the Nexus folks or something. She may not be fixed all the way now, but she still could be."

Whatever getting her time circuits going did for her, apparently it was the best thing ever, and he's happy to see that they've managed to do something good for her.

"Yeah, I figured that much," Doc says. "I'll take a look at it later and figure out exactly what I'm asking for first." He's half-hoping it'll bring an alternate out of the woodwork, as another version of him would be his best bet for getting that flight system back up.

"Don't worry, Dad -- we'll figure it out," Dee says with enthusiasm. Then, a little nervously, she adds, "You're okay, right?"

Doc smiles down at her and ruffles her hair. "Yeah, I'm fine. Once I got going. . . ." He crouches down and hugs her. "I'm glad we were able to fix you up at least some."

"Me too," Dee says with a nod.

"You did good, Doc," Clark agrees with a nod.

Doc grins. "Thanks. Thank you for all your help as well, both here and before."

"Yeah, means a lot to us," Marty agrees. He wishes he'd been around more to help with that problem, but he's glad Clark was there to lend a hand when it came up.

"Hey, no problem. I was happy to help," he tells them with a smile.

"Always happy to have you around," Doc says.

"Yeah, this was fun," Dee grins. Even if she didn't really do anything but sit there. But hey, her time circuits are functional again, and the flight systems almost so. Today is a good day in Dee-land.

It's a good day by Clark's standards, too. He likes working on stuff like this, and helping out friends is always a plus in his book. "My offer of a flight is still open, whenever you'd like to take me up on it. No flying circuits necessary." He doesn't expect it to be now, just letting them know the option still remains.

Dee giggles. "Awesome."

"Hopefully Dee will be able to join us properly someday on that," Doc says, ruffling her hair.

"Yeah! And then I could take Marty! And maybe Victor and Alice!"

"Three people, Dee? Isn't that a tight squeeze?" Marty points out.

"I don't think they'd mind. They're goofy with each other anyway." Marty snorts and nods, conceding the point.

(OOC: TWO notifs in a row! *shock, horror*)

"If all else fails, I am fully capable of taking passengers," Clark reminds them, a little amused.

((Haha, I wondered what was going on. Although speaking of notifs, Clark's new post is up if you have anyone who wants to give their condolences or whatever.))

"Yeah, but it might be a little more comfortable being able to sit down," Marty jokes back.

"Seriously, though, we'll see about doing that sometime in the future," Doc nods. "With or without flying circuits."

(OOC: Though now the streak is broken. And I'll probably have someone drop by this afternoon -- gotta go to school in a few.)

He shrugs. "Oh, I don't know. I much prefer being out in the fresh air and all that. Although not so much in orbit, granted."

"Sounds like a plan!"

((So do I, actually. I'll be around for part of the afternoon until I go to work at 4 though.))

"Orbit would not be good," Marty agrees.

"All right then," Doc says. "Suppose we can use the same system as we did just now." Hopefully with the timing remaining good.

"Not for people who need to breathe regularly, anyway."

He nods to Doc's suggestion. "That's a good idea. Although I make no promises on availability, with everything that goes on at home sometimes. But I'll definitely try to get it into my schedule."

"Yeah, exactly."

"I know," Doc nods. "Whenever you can make time for it."

"I'm looking for to it," Dee adds, bouncing again. Even if she can't fly on her own when it happens, hitching a ride will be fun too.

"I can't wait," he says, smiling down at her and ruffling her hair. He's quite fond of the girl-car, both for being the DeLorean and being one of the most adorable little girls he's ever met.

"Us either," Marty replies, grinning. Man, this just proves he knows all the coolest people.
