Ten Thank You Notes
Farley –
Thank you for being there for me. Thanks for always being willing to listen to my problems, no matter how strange they may seem. I know you’ve had a rather checkered past, but you’ve always been a loyal friend to me, and I really appreciate that. Thanks.
Gladys –
Thank you for helping me through the tough times. It means a lot to me, having someone there who’s willing to come and comfort me when I need it. I’m here for you too, if you ever need it. Thanks.
Aubrey –
Thank you for being someone I can pal around with. It’s nice having someone to talk science with, even if we’re technically in different fields. And it’s nice having someone else around who enjoys building and inventing. Thanks.
Revan –
Thank you for being there when I first fell through the Rift. I have no idea what I would have done if I’d had to orient myself to this strange new world alone. Thank you for being my guide and teaching me new things, Jeedi pateesa. Thanks.
JD –
Thank you for treating me like someone important. Granted, discovering I’m technically fictional was a bit of a shock, but it was nice to see how enthusiastic you were to meet me. I’ve never really had a fan before, and – it felt good. Thanks.
Dmitri –
Thank you for making me laugh at a time when very little in my life seemed funny. I was really hurting that day, and you helped a lot by stopping and talking. I hope we can meet up again one day, and maybe I can repay the favor. Thanks.
Damion –
Thank you for sharing a cup of tea and some other pleasant conversations with me. The Nexus can be a rather scary place at times, and it’s good to know I have someone I can count on for some pleasant conversation and maybe even a little building and tinkering time. Thanks.
Metody –
Thank you for showing me there’s a definite good side to my weather powers. A lot of the time, all I can think of is the annoyances they cause me, like getting me wet at night. I really enjoyed seeing your face light up when I created the snow, or laughing with me about my cloud creations. Thanks.
Holly –
Thank you for being my friend. When we first met, I was a very lonely young boy who didn’t get a lot of respect from his peers. Having someone who was willing to stand up for me (and my sister), who liked me just for who I was – it meant a lot. I really hope you’re doing well these days. Thanks.
Marty –
Thank you.
For everything.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Date: 2008-11-27 10:45 pm (UTC)Thankyou for showing me your weather powers. They're so neat!
And I maintain that perhaps you could benefit from some camping equipment at night. If a tent wouldn't work, maybe a waterproof sleeping bag would.
I hope your Thanksgiving is going well!

Date: 2008-11-27 11:54 pm (UTC)Metody, you may not believe this, but I think I can fly. At least, I've produced winds strong enough to pick me up. I'm working on making a glider, to make me more aerodynamic.
Things are good over here -- plenty of good food. I hope you're having a good Thanksgiving too. :)

Date: 2008-11-28 02:43 am (UTC)You would not believe how many exclamation points I had to trim from the above.
Can I see sometime? You're going to need someone else to take measurements if you're going to properly quantify results. Bad form to do it from within the experiment. Really. That's my only motivation. Getting to see someone fly has nothing at all to do with it. It's only my deep concern for scientific accuracy.

Date: 2008-11-28 02:47 am (UTC)Of course! I'm probably going to be practicing in the Nexus before trying anything serious in Chicago. Just for safety's sake. And yes, scientific accuracy is very important. ;)

Date: 2008-11-28 02:56 am (UTC)And score! Does this make me your minion?

Date: 2008-11-28 02:59 am (UTC)Heh, if you want to be. :D

Date: 2008-11-28 03:06 am (UTC)I vote for some sort of pirhana-lightning rod related death.

Date: 2008-11-28 03:09 am (UTC)Pirhana-lightning rod death would be the easiest for me to pull off. What with the weather powers and all.

Date: 2008-11-28 03:12 am (UTC)Are pirhana very conductive?
no subject
Date: 2008-11-28 03:15 am (UTC)I'm not sure. Water is very conductive, though, so I don't think it matters too much whether they in particular are or not.

Date: 2008-11-28 03:16 am (UTC)I imagine fish are mostly water. And salty water, at that.
no subject
Date: 2008-11-28 03:18 am (UTC)Most living things are mostly water, I believe. Human beings are typically about 60% water or so. I imagine it would be greater for fish, who live in an aqueous environment.

Date: 2008-11-28 03:25 am (UTC)Too bad you can't bottle lightning. I could think of some good uses for it.
no subject
Date: 2008-11-28 03:27 am (UTC)I know. Readily available power source, mainly. Plus it would look quite neat, sitting on a desk.

Date: 2008-11-28 03:28 am (UTC)And you could make mini-lightnings for key chains. I'd never loose my keys again!

Date: 2008-11-28 03:46 am (UTC)Heh, I know! Or maybe it could work for personal defense. I know I'd back off if someone threatened to hit me with lightning.
no subject
Date: 2008-11-28 03:59 am (UTC)And yes. It would be far more threatening than a mere taser!

Date: 2008-11-28 09:05 pm (UTC)Exactly! Mugging rates would go way down. Just have to hope the criminals wouldn't get their hands on it.

Date: 2008-11-29 06:33 pm (UTC)Perhaps its not such a good idea after all.

Date: 2008-11-28 12:25 am (UTC)I'll be over the Inkwell in a bit for Thanksgiving. There's still food left, right?
no subject
Date: 2008-11-28 12:27 am (UTC)Yes, there's plenty of food left. We had quite the spread this year. Mrs. Plum tried to cook something, but thankfully Victor stopped her.
I'll meet you at the front door then.
