When he's not roleplaying in the Rift or the Nexus, the Doc Brown known as "Clockwork" lives in the Inkwell Bar and Grill, the local restaurant and hangout for his mun Victoria's muses. Clockwork also happens to own the place, so it's very easy for him to conscript it for his birthday. Anyone entering today will find that the bar has a wide selection of various cakes on it for people to sample, along with freezers full of ice cream. Clockwork himself is seated at the bar with a slice of chocolate cake, smiling at anyone who comes in.

Anybody's welcome to drop by, either just to say "hi" or to grab some cake. (One warning -- you might want to avoid the cake on the far left of the bar. Mrs. Plum made that one, and being a dead cook from "Corpse Bride" prone to putting body parts in her meals. . . .)

Clockwork snorts. "The mun really likes Back To The Future," he says, smiling. "And crossovers. And alternate realities."

"And us in general," VampDoc adds from the pool table.

"Yeah." Clockwork looks at the gift curiously. "Oh, thanks!" He pulls off the paper and opens it. "You really didn't need to get me anything."

"Ahh, I see," Clockwork says, looking slightly uncomfortable. "It's one of Victoria's favorites too. Victor's the only non-BTTF muse she has." He points to the thin, pale young man by the piano. "His undead friends are pretty nice, but you might want to stand back, since they do seem to lose pieces of themselves on occasion." Another look at that cake.

"What's not to like?" Daimon shrugs and grins, settling against the bar.

"Nah, don't worry about it. I was on an ordering spree anyway." Inside is a laptop computer with a brushed brass case. "It will conceal itself as a typewriter in lower tech worlds. Being neighbor to a witch is sometimes useful. Turns out she's from the 1920s originally."

Daimon tilts his head, looking over at him. "D'aww." Cute little Victorian gothboy. Bet I'd scare him into a fainting fit if I smiled at him. "I really should introduce him to Danica, she'd get along with his friends real well. Necromancer and all. One of her pets is a clockwork mouse skeleton she made."

Clockwork grins back. "They are good movies. I got a chance to watch them. Rather odd to see another version of yourself on a screen."

"As opposed to real life?" VampDoc2 asks with a smirk. Clockwork just rolls his eyes.

Ooooh, computer! Clockwork is always happy to see more of these. Poor guy often feels left behind because of his 1965 origins. Hell, TEENDOC knows more, and his primary universe is steampunk! "Thanks! Looks great!" He happily fiddles around with it a bit. "Tell her thanks too. Amazing. . . ."

Victor's a little hardier than he looks, so he probably wouldn't faint. Pull on his tie a lot and possibly fall over. . . He sees Daimon looking and gives him a friendly grin.

"So long as she likes singing and dancing skeletons," Clockwork says, thinking of Bonejangles. "Honestly, they're all nice people. Even if they're dead. And, well, given the living members of Victor's world that we've met. . . ." He shrugs. He looks faintly -- weirded out by the mention of the mouse. Sorry, Daimon, but as the steam proves, "clockwork skeletons" make him think of less-nice things. Not that he thinks Danica is like that -- more an automatic reaction.

"Em...I actually got to see a version of 'myself' on a screen recently. Though he was nothing like me. Great wardrobe, but nothing like me." He nodnods. "It's loaded up with the same basics that are on mine. We can goof off a bit now, and more when you come over for the party. And I'll send your thanks along to Miss Whateley."

Daimon waves back cheerily, and is a bit used to a certain Inspector who is the spitting image of Victor...and really does faint at the drop of a hat.

"Are you kidding? She could tell them her crazy Thanksgiving reanimated-turkey story. Danica is...well...you know the creepy little kid in school you knew would either grow up to be a coroner or a witch or the crazy cat lady? She grew up to hang out with ghosts."

He blinks, then shrugs. "No, I mean, she used actual bits from a clock to replace the joints and such."

"Really? How weird," Clockwork says with a small frown. "I know how you feel, a bit -- I accidentally caught a bit of a show my actor, Christopher Lloyd did, called 'Taxi.' Reverend Jim was -- a surprise."

He beams. "Sounds great." He lovingly pats the lid of the laptop. Ahhh, technology. He's gonna have to think of something good to get Daimon in return.

Victor gives a little wave in return, before notcing something sniffing at his feet. He picks up a little skeleton-dog and pets it lovingly. Dead things like him.

Clockwork laughs. "She sounds something like Holly! Friend of mine from school, practiced witchcraft. Sweet girl, but tough as nails. She'd sometimes beat up bullies for me."

"Yeah, I -- guessed that," Clockwork says, awkwardly rubbing at his elbow (and the gear sticking out of it). "Can't leave the poor thing missing pieces, though."

"Antoine LeConte was...beyond a surprise. I just hope I never meet the man in the Nexus." Eyetwitch.

"Well, it just didn't seem right to me, especially seeing as you got Net connectivity already and took to it like a proper fish to water. And yeah, we have to hold Danica back when her righteous-anger buttons get pushed. Though she's not exactly a terror in the flesh--I kitten-sit for her, for pity's sake."

Daimon nods a bit. "Sorry, suppose that was a bit close to home. It's a cute little thing, though."

Clockwork nods sympathetically. "I can understand that." He's not sure he'd like to run into Jim. Guy seemed nice enough, but still. . . . (Of course, there's a Judge Doom running around the Rift, but they haven't met yet.)

"The internet is great," Clockwork beams. "Utterly amazing." He pats the computer again. "Granted, some parts of it are -- rather weird, but there's no getting around that, is there?"

That gets a chuckle. "Yeah, again like Holly. Though I doubt even actual terror-in-the-fleshes would be able to resist kittens." Baby animals just have that effect on people.

"It's all right," Clockwork says with a weak smile. "I'm certain she's not like Andrew that way. I'll take your word for it."

(Awww. *patpat*)

"Of course some of my "doubles" seem a little more interesting. Ran into this tattooed bloke who at least takes the whole heroing business seriously, even if he n--" he cut himself off at "needs to get laid even more desperately than I do" since that was kind of rude.

He bursts out laughing. "Has anyone played the Avenue Q song for you yet? There is more stupid crap, warped pornography and bizarre brain-spew on the Net than anyone not a telepath could ever imagine until they've seen it for themselves. And there are indeed terrors in the flesh that can resist kittens...but not very many."

Daimon shudders. "Uh...no, hell no. Danica is basically a private eye that works for ghosts and the recently bereaved."

Clockwork nods, interested. "I see. I don't know the full extent of my doubles yet, but apparently my actor specializes in playing rather strange people. Reverend Jim, Professor Plum, Judge Doom--" Victor overhears that and gives a disgusted snort.

"The Avenue--"

The Martys cheerfully start on a chorus of "The Internet is for Porn." Clockwork rolls his eyes. "Oh, I see. Yeah, the mun's told me about that. I try to stay far, far away from those parts of the net." He shakes his head. "People are incredibly strange." He should know, his mun's one of them. :D

Clockwork nods. "Ahh. That must be interesting work. Though I imagine kind of depressing too."
