I've seen nothing else regarding the sale of that Nephilim girl. I trust the situation was taken care of?

If anyone needs any help dealing with that, I'd be happy to strangle that bastard with my BARE HANDS HOW DARE HE help. In any way.

Haven't seen much of any of you lately. Are you all okay? Or have you all been eaten temporarily by one of those strange Rifts? Would be my luck.

I'm fine, dearie. I've just been busy as of late. I'd love to come out and find you and bring you cookies, but I've been so busy...

I miss you! :)

Heh, I see. Spreading the love of sweets, I take it?

I miss you too. :)

Hello, how does this work? Where are you?

Hello? My name is Ruvin. I found this book on the floor. Are you inside it?

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi there, I'm Dr. Brown. Take it you're new to this world. . .

I'm not inside the book. I -- don't know how much anyone explained your current situation to you, but here we have a system of journals that are all psychically linked. Anybody can see entries anybody else has written, unless you specify that only certain people can (i.e., [Locked to So-and-So]). It's a pretty convenient way of communicating with fellow Wanderers and the like. We all get one shortly after arriving.

[identity profile] changingtheodds.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
I know that I'm stuck here, that I'll die if I try to go home. Who gives them to us people?

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
. . . Honestly, from what I've heard (and experienced myself), they just -- appear. In whatever shape you're most comfortable with, no less. Somebody ought to find out more about that.

You're in a very strange universe, Ruvin.

[identity profile] changingtheodds.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
And what about those things that we people come through? Has no one tried to close them?

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Close? Not to my knowledge. There have been attempts to reverse them, with a view to us all going home. None of them have worked yet. Whatever the Rift really is, it appears to be resistant to being changed.

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Er, I don't know everyone who's tried. The name that keeps popping up is The Doctor (that's what he goes by, anyway). Nice enough person, though "mad" might not be a bad adjective to describe how he acts sometimes. . .

[identity profile] changingtheodds.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 01:20 am (UTC)(link)

I keep forgetting there is no council here. But can't they sense the nature of that thing?

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
No one's mentioned being able to. Maybe there are people here who can, but I've never run into any of them. I think most of us just look at the Rift as "the hole between multiple dimensions that keeps spitting out people."

The fact I can write that without blinking says I've been here too long.

[identity profile] changingtheodds.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
[If one could communicate a long and flabbergasted through text, she would be doing that right now]

They can't feel it. They can't feel it and they still tried to alter--to REVERSE it?

So there are many, then, who have been forced here.

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
When they tried to reverse it -- they were trying to send us back. A lot of us want to go home, and. . . .

My best friend's on the other side, I can't

If trying to alter the Rift is bringing more people through than -- whatever passes for "normal" with it -- however. . . .

Damn it, this world should NOT be this complicated!

[identity profile] changingtheodds.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
There is no way back. I can feel

I want to go home. But my desires are subordinate to the oaths I took, one being to make sure that the pattern of the world stays unpolluted. It is impossible to return through them, therefore they must be closed from this side.

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
. . . You're not going to get a lot of support on that. But you probably know that already.

Also this isn't We don't

[identity profile] changingtheodds.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Popularity isn't something with which I am particularly concerned.

...you don't what?

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
All right.

It's not important.

[identity profile] changingtheodds.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
It's better then letting probability collapse.

As you'll have it.

[identity profile] thecellsiam.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 08:25 am (UTC)(link)
I'm perfectly fine! ^^ Just laying low, like I do, y'know how those things go.

Though I did run into someone who looked startlingly like Fricka on my way back to the Gauche the other day, so that's kind of thrown me for a loop, but hey. At least it's not a Not!Fricka like when Litta came through.

...yep, pretty much my news on this end? How's things there? Still flying? :)

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahhh, good!

Huh, that's strange. I think the universe enjoys confusing us sometimes. To whit: "Back To The Future."

Things are good -- working on making a glider for myself as regards to the flying. It's slow going, but I'm hopeful about the end result. I figure, as long as I have the ability, I might as well make myself as aerodynamic as possible.

[identity profile] thecellsiam.livejournal.com 2008-12-09 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
It definitely does! Damn universe. ::shakes fist at it::

That's pretty awesome. Like, Superhero Awesome. :D

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-10 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Precisely!

Heh, thanks. I'm looking forward to using these powers now. A lot nicer than having to dodge rain every time I get upset.

(OOC: Retro-posted liek woah.)

I'm good, though it's been a little crazy for me.

The "muses" (a.k.a. the crazy things the Rift stuck in my brain) took me. Hard.

...Having reread that last sentence, promise me you won't repeat what I just said to anyone? Please?

Nephilim? Okay, what did I miss out on in the madness place?

Re: [Locked to Farley]

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-19 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahh, I know that feeling well.

Heh, I won't say the phrase is from you, anyway. I might just use it to refer to one of my own bouts of inventing, though. (Actually, I did have some thoughts on the time circuit control panel recently. . . .)

Someone was trying to sell a TEN YEAR OLD GIRL over the journal system. It -- rather struck a nerve with me.

Re: [Locked to Farley]

[identity profile] clanoftheswords.livejournal.com 2008-12-21 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
You should have seen some of the stuff I was coming up with near the end - about half of it made little sense, like "Properties of Earworms" (songs getting stuck in your head, not the bug).

A ten year old

[Several minutes later...]

I take it that when you say Nephilim, that means she was... different? Special powers or something?

Re: [Locked to Farley]

[identity profile] clockwork-doc.livejournal.com 2008-12-21 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, I see. Sounds like me and that idea I had once for sawdust pancake mix (I was very tired and hungry at the time, that's all I can say).

Yes, a ten-year-old girl. And yes, she was different. Apparently these Nephilim have the ability to influence the Rift. I've done some research -- they're the offspring of angels and demons. It's -- sad, honestly.
