Its a fictionalization about a Nobel laureate in Economics - and a compelling look into madness, because he was insane. Clinically insane. I wouldn't call it a feel-good movie, but there was some kind of solace in it.
It sounds like you've got a sizeable supernatural population. That right there is a major difference. I'm the only person I know who has significant powers. Others are exceedingly rare, and put down as soon as they make themselves obvious.
