Thank you for being there for me. Thanks for always being willing to listen to my problems, no matter how strange they may seem. I know you’ve had a rather checkered past, but you’ve always been a loyal friend to me, and I really appreciate that. Thanks.

Gladys –
Thank you for helping me through the tough times. It means a lot to me, having someone there who’s willing to come and comfort me when I need it. I’m here for you too, if you ever need it. Thanks.

Aubrey –
Thank you for being someone I can pal around with. It’s nice having someone to talk science with, even if we’re technically in different fields. And it’s nice having someone else around who enjoys building and inventing. Thanks.

Revan –
Thank you for being there when I first fell through the Rift. I have no idea what I would have done if I’d had to orient myself to this strange new world alone. Thank you for being my guide and teaching me new things, Jeedi pateesa. Thanks.

JD –
Thank you for treating me like someone important. Granted, discovering I’m technically fictional was a bit of a shock, but it was nice to see how enthusiastic you were to meet me. I’ve never really had a fan before, and – it felt good. Thanks.

Thank you for making me laugh at a time when very little in my life seemed funny. I was really hurting that day, and you helped a lot by stopping and talking. I hope we can meet up again one day, and maybe I can repay the favor. Thanks.

Thank you for sharing a cup of tea and some other pleasant conversations with me. The Nexus can be a rather scary place at times, and it’s good to know I have someone I can count on for some pleasant conversation and maybe even a little building and tinkering time. Thanks.

Thank you for showing me there’s a definite good side to my weather powers. A lot of the time, all I can think of is the annoyances they cause me, like getting me wet at night. I really enjoyed seeing your face light up when I created the snow, or laughing with me about my cloud creations. Thanks.

Thank you for being my friend. When we first met, I was a very lonely young boy who didn’t get a lot of respect from his peers. Having someone who was willing to stand up for me (and my sister), who liked me just for who I was – it meant a lot. I really hope you’re doing well these days. Thanks.

Thankyou for showing me your weather powers. They're so neat!

And I maintain that perhaps you could benefit from some camping equipment at night. If a tent wouldn't work, maybe a waterproof sleeping bag would.

They are! I've managed to get some better control over them, so the waterproof sleeping bag isn't as necessary as before, thankfully. In fact --

Metody, you may not believe this, but I think I can fly. At least, I've produced winds strong enough to pick me up. I'm working on making a glider, to make me more aerodynamic.

Things are good over here -- plenty of good food. I hope you're having a good Thanksgiving too. :)

You would not believe how many exclamation points I had to trim from the above.

Can I see sometime? You're going to need someone else to take measurements if you're going to properly quantify results. Bad form to do it from within the experiment. Really. That's my only motivation. Getting to see someone fly has nothing at all to do with it. It's only my deep concern for scientific accuracy.

I know! It's nice when my powers work in my favor. I had no idea until a couple of days ago, took me completely by surprise.

Of course! I'm probably going to be practicing in the Nexus before trying anything serious in Chicago. Just for safety's sake. And yes, scientific accuracy is very important. ;)

Awesome. I always wanted to be a minion. All I need now is a sexy leather-clad assassin to seduce me and my place in the movie canon is assured. That, or I could be killed in a fit of rage in some cool manners.

I'm not sure. Water is very conductive, though, so I don't think it matters too much whether they in particular are or not.

Most living things are mostly water, I believe. Human beings are typically about 60% water or so. I imagine it would be greater for fish, who live in an aqueous environment.

So a pirhana would make an excellent conductor of electricity. And dying via pirhana or a lightning bolt would be a cool way to go, but really both? Almost too cool.

Too bad you can't bottle lightning. I could think of some good uses for it.

When it comes to death, Metodies deserve the best! And really, if the bolt were sustained, it could be a nice, tidy death. Nothing left but ashes.

And you could make mini-lightnings for key chains. I'd never loose my keys again!

Well, lightning is rarely sustained. You'd have to have a more constant electrical current. Either that or a lot of bolts of lightning hitting at once.

Heh, I know! Or maybe it could work for personal defense. I know I'd back off if someone threatened to hit me with lightning.

Speaking on a purely practical basis, repeated strikes to the same spot would certainly seem like a constant bolt of lightning to most recipients.

And yes. It would be far more threatening than a mere taser!

Oh, if the criminals got their hands on it, things would quickly accelerate. Bigger and bigger lightning bolts, until soon, people would have to walk around with you strapped to their backs.

Perhaps its not such a good idea after all.

I have to admit, it startled me at first - I'm still not used to people not having all their bones. Or looking like they don't have all their bones. Funny, the things you take for granted.

Feeding, bathing, entertaining, digging up lab supplies, exercising - it can be a lot of work having your very own Doc. Maybe I should start smaller, possibly with some sort of electric goldfish. (But not Twix. Cute as he is, he's not a petfish sort of fishy)

(I'd imagine that bones protecting the most delicate things would be intact or sheathed, given the risk involved in replacing them - the skull, the spine, stuff like that.))

I think most people take others having all their bones for granted, whether they can see them or not. I'm pretty much the exception to the rule, I think. Hope. (Of course, we're discussing the NEXUS here.)

Oh yes. And I'm prone to make messes that I don't clean up. And stay up odd hours. Electric goldfish would be much easier. (Twix?)

(Yeah, that's pretty much how I imagined it. Most of Doc's skull is intact, along with his spine and pelvis. Arms and legs though, along with his jaw and ribs. . . . Plus there's the issue of his stomach and heart not being standard-issue, so to speak.)

It's silly, the things people take for granted - that's how you end up with pollution and entire cities being plunged into a chemical hell.

So far as messes and odd hours go, I'm okay with those. But I don't know about the whole taking-you-for-walks thing. I'm kind of lazy about extra exercise.

Twix is a floating, thinking goldfish. He's intelligent. Talking to him is like talking to a very smart, very apealing six year old. He's the greatest little guy.
