OOC/MuseVerse: Inkwell Party!

When he's not roleplaying in the Rift or the Nexus, the Doc Brown known as "Clockwork" lives in the Inkwell Bar and Grill, the local restaurant and hangout for his mun Victoria's muses. Clockwork also happens to own the place, so it's very easy for him to conscript it for his birthday. Anyone entering today will find that the bar has a wide selection of various cakes on it for people to sample, along with freezers full of ice cream. Clockwork himself is seated at the bar with a slice of chocolate cake, smiling at anyone who comes in.

Anybody's welcome to drop by, either just to say "hi" or to grab some cake. (One warning -- you might want to avoid the cake on the far left of the bar. Mrs. Plum made that one, and being a dead cook from "Corpse Bride" prone to putting body parts in her meals. . . .)

"Really? How weird," Clockwork says with a small frown. "I know how you feel, a bit -- I accidentally caught a bit of a show my actor, Christopher Lloyd did, called 'Taxi.' Reverend Jim was -- a surprise."

He beams. "Sounds great." He lovingly pats the lid of the laptop. Ahhh, technology. He's gonna have to think of something good to get Daimon in return.

Victor gives a little wave in return, before notcing something sniffing at his feet. He picks up a little skeleton-dog and pets it lovingly. Dead things like him.

Clockwork laughs. "She sounds something like Holly! Friend of mine from school, practiced witchcraft. Sweet girl, but tough as nails. She'd sometimes beat up bullies for me."

"Yeah, I -- guessed that," Clockwork says, awkwardly rubbing at his elbow (and the gear sticking out of it). "Can't leave the poor thing missing pieces, though."

"Antoine LeConte was...beyond a surprise. I just hope I never meet the man in the Nexus." Eyetwitch.

"Well, it just didn't seem right to me, especially seeing as you got Net connectivity already and took to it like a proper fish to water. And yeah, we have to hold Danica back when her righteous-anger buttons get pushed. Though she's not exactly a terror in the flesh--I kitten-sit for her, for pity's sake."

Daimon nods a bit. "Sorry, suppose that was a bit close to home. It's a cute little thing, though."

Clockwork nods sympathetically. "I can understand that." He's not sure he'd like to run into Jim. Guy seemed nice enough, but still. . . . (Of course, there's a Judge Doom running around the Rift, but they haven't met yet.)

"The internet is great," Clockwork beams. "Utterly amazing." He pats the computer again. "Granted, some parts of it are -- rather weird, but there's no getting around that, is there?"

That gets a chuckle. "Yeah, again like Holly. Though I doubt even actual terror-in-the-fleshes would be able to resist kittens." Baby animals just have that effect on people.

"It's all right," Clockwork says with a weak smile. "I'm certain she's not like Andrew that way. I'll take your word for it."

(Awww. *patpat*)

"Of course some of my "doubles" seem a little more interesting. Ran into this tattooed bloke who at least takes the whole heroing business seriously, even if he n--" he cut himself off at "needs to get laid even more desperately than I do" since that was kind of rude.

He bursts out laughing. "Has anyone played the Avenue Q song for you yet? There is more stupid crap, warped pornography and bizarre brain-spew on the Net than anyone not a telepath could ever imagine until they've seen it for themselves. And there are indeed terrors in the flesh that can resist kittens...but not very many."

Daimon shudders. "Uh...no, hell no. Danica is basically a private eye that works for ghosts and the recently bereaved."

Clockwork nods, interested. "I see. I don't know the full extent of my doubles yet, but apparently my actor specializes in playing rather strange people. Reverend Jim, Professor Plum, Judge Doom--" Victor overhears that and gives a disgusted snort.

"The Avenue--"

The Martys cheerfully start on a chorus of "The Internet is for Porn." Clockwork rolls his eyes. "Oh, I see. Yeah, the mun's told me about that. I try to stay far, far away from those parts of the net." He shakes his head. "People are incredibly strange." He should know, his mun's one of them. :D

Clockwork nods. "Ahh. That must be interesting work. Though I imagine kind of depressing too."
