JustPrompts: Jail Cell Photo

It hadn’t looked like a jail cell.
In the beginning, it had been a place of wonder. A place where he could invent to his heart’s content, work on a project that seemed simply amazing. And if anything seemed surreal about it, anything out of place, he soon pushed it (had it pushed) from his mind.
Then came the operating table, and the cell door slammed shut amid screams of pain and blood and metal and bone and Hedgethorn and running running RUNNING
And for twenty years, he’d been locked inside. A prisoner of an old house with a too-large basement. A prisoner of a creature beyond human comprehension. A prisoner of his own amnesia.
It hadn’t looked like a jail cell.
But then, the worst ones seldom did.

Re: OOC
He flailed when I read the lung-cleaning story for Metody -- just the idea of the kid being AWAKE for all that. . . I'm thinking Doc will have issues with medical doctors. (Story got me too, honestly. *brrr*)
Re: OOC
Well, of course he's awake! If his blood oxygen levels start going down, then him starting to pass out would be a good early warning sign.
If I'd thought of it, I would have had him playing some kind of simple game the whole way through, so as to keep better track of his mental functioning. And while he's gotten used to that procedure from long acquaintance, Metody's pretty jumpy around medical doctors, himself.
(Does it make me a bad person that I'm happy the story got to someone?)
Re: OOC
Never thought about it like that. Of course, I was thinking more in terms of "squicky, yeeps, could never do that." Poor Metody -- even if he is used to it, that sounds like the least fun thing ever.
(LOL, nah. You should see some of the shit I write.)

(Hooray!)
